-
At least one member of each team must attend the Captain’s Meeting to receive official instructions, check-in information, and any rule updates.
-
Each team will compete from 1 registered boat or kayak only. Team members may not split between vessels or transfer fish, bait, or equipment to another team. Guides are allowed to participate if registered as part of a team. Wading is allowed, but anglers must always remain within 100 yards of their vessel. The use of hired guides is allowed; however, any guide not listed as a registered team member is prohibited from participating in fishing.
-
Official tournament check-in will open at 5:30 a.m. Teams may arrive at 5:30 a.m. or any time thereafterto complete check-in. Teams may launch and begin fishing immediately upon completing check-in. No team may launch or fish prior to checking in with tournament officials. All boats must launch exclusively from Kaufer-Hubert Memorial Park or Williamson’s Boat Ramp. Kayaks may launch from any kayak accessible area in Baffin Bay. All team members must be physically present at check-in. Guides, captains, or any individuals NOT listed as an official registered team member are not permitted to check in on behalf of a team. Failure to check in prior to launching or fishing will result in immediate disqualification.
-
Official weigh-in will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All teams must be physically in weigh-in line no later than 2:00 p.m. Teams that fail to meet weigh-in deadline will be disqualified.
-
Fishing is rod and reel only. Both artificial and live bait are allowed. All TPWD regulations must be followed. All fish must be legally caught during tournament hours within Baffin Bay and its connected waters. Teams must launch from and return to Baffin Bay only.
-
The official tournament stringer for boats and kayaks will consist of 2 spotted sea trout (15-20 inches), 1 redfish (20-28 inches), and 1 black drum (14-30 inches). All fish must meet legal slot requirements. Oversized, undersized, or tagged fish will not be accepted. No mutilated or altered fish will be weighed. Tournament officials reserve the right to inspect live wells, ice chests, and fish at any time. Weigh-master and tournament committee decisions are final.
-
A complete stringer will automatically place ahead of any partial stringer regardless of weight. Scoring shall be determined by the total combined weight of eligible fish. Full stringers will be ranked first by weight, followed by partial stringers ranked by weight. Ties will be broken by earliest official weigh-in time.
-
All teams are expected to always conduct themselves in a safe and sportsmanlike manner. Courtesy and respect toward other anglers, boaters, and tournament staff is required. Interference, harassment, outside assistance, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in penalties or disqualification.
-
Winners may be subject to polygraph testing. Refusal or failure of a polygraph examination will result in disqualification. All protests must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes of the final weigh-in. A 3-member, non-participating, impartial Tournament Committee will review protests. The Committee will interpret all rules, resolve disputes, and address any unforeseen circumstances. All decisions of the Committee are final and not subject to appeal.
-
The tournament may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled due to unsafe weather conditions at the discretion of tournament officials. No refunds will be issued.
