2025 Baffin Bay Coastal Cast-Off
Junior Division Rules:
It is the contestants' responsibility to read, understand, and comply with all the rules outlined below. Non-compliance will be grounds for disqualification from the tournament. By registering for and participating in the Baffin Bay Coastal Cast-Off Fishing Tournament, each team and participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.
LAWS AND REGULATIONS
• All contestants must obey all Federal, State, and Local laws at all times.
• Violations, including game or wildlife violations, will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of all entry fees and prizes.
• All fish must meet Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) size and bag limits.

•A valid Texas fishing license is required for all contestants.

SAFETY
• Safe boating must be observed at all times and personal flotation devices are strongly encouraged.

DESIGNATED FISHING AREA
• This is an inshore tournament only — all participants must fish from Baffin Bay.

ETHICS
• Event staff reserve the right to deny entry or participation to any team or individual, with or without cause, at their sole discretion.
• Any act of cheating, forgery, providing false information, unsportsmanlike conduct, or unsafe behavior will result in immediate disqualification, forfeiture of all prizes and entry fees, and may result in suspension or permanent ban from future tournaments.
REGISTRATION
• Teams must be pre-registered by May 31st, 2025 — no late entries accepted. Register by May 15th to be guaranteed a tournament shirt.
• No refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
• Open to amateurs, the public, and anglers 6-12 years of age.
• Entry fee: $50.00 per individual.

Entry forms must be complete with all names and contact information. JUNIOR FORMS REQUIRE A GUARDIAN'S SIGNATURE. The participant AND guardian must be present at the Captain’s meeting.
TEAM FORMAT
• This is an individual tournament.
• You may only have (1) angler per team.
• Only (1) rod per angler may be used to fish with at a time.

FISHING RULES
• Only (1) individual.
• You MUST fish from land or a pier in Baffin Bay. Any fish caught for child by adult will be disqualified. Adults can help net fish ONLY if it is too large for child. Casting, reeling, and catching fish must be done by children only.
BAIT
• Live, dead, and artificial bait are permitted.

CAPTAIN’S MEETING
• At least one (1) member from each team is required to attend the Captain’s Meeting.
• Meeting details La Pesca Lodge 6 PM.
• Any additions to the rules will be discussed at the Captain’s Meeting.

LAUNCH AND WEIGH-IN
• Official launch time is 6:00 AM on tournament day.
• Any team caught leaving or fishing before 6:00 AM will be disqualified.
• Weigh-in will open at 12:00 PM and close at 3:00 PM. Teams must present their fish at the weigh-in station by 3:00 PM or be physically standing in line with their fish by 3:00 PM to qualify.

WEIGH-IN PROCEDURES
• Only the fish you intend to weigh may be brought to the Weighmaster.
• Once a fish is presented for weigh-in, it cannot be replaced or exchanged.
• The Weighmaster will not select fish on behalf of any team — the fish you present is your official entry.
• All fish will be inspected for signs of alteration, mutilation, or tampering.
• Fish may be gutted at the Weighmaster’s discretion to verify legality and weight.
• Any fish found to be altered, mutilated, or tampered with will result in immediate disqualification of the team, forfeiture of all prizes and entry fees, and suspension from future tournaments.
• Contestants may be subject to a polygraph examination. Failure to pass or submit to a polygraph will result in disqualification and forfeiture of prizes.

WEATHER POLICY
• In the event of a tropical storm, hurricane, or dangerous weather, tournament officials may postpone or reschedule event at their sole discretion.
• All safety decisions by tournament officials are final and not subject to appeal.
• No refunds will be issued for weather delays, rescheduling, or cancellations.

STRINGER RULES (A full stringer is not required to weigh-in)
• A stringer can consist of up to:
– (2) Red Drum (20”–28”)
– (2) Black Drum (14”–26”)
• Oversized Black or Red Drum are prohibited.
• In the event of a tie, weight will determine the winner. If still tied, the fish weighed in first will determine the winner.
• No measuring or weighing of fish will occur at the weigh-in station to select your stringer.
• If a fish is disqualified, it may not be replaced—All fish must be presented at the same time.
• Decisions of the Weighmaster are final and binding.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MAY BE SUBJECT TO A POLYGRAPH.
